i don't know how many of you all read my everyday lauren blog, but if you do, you will see a link on the sidebar to baby faith hope's blog. baby faith is a little baby that was born with anencephaly. most babies with this disorder only live a few hours, if that long. baby faith lived 93 days. that's 13 weeks and 2 days. she went to be with jesus on saturday night.
i think it's really a sad thing that so many babies aren't given the chance to live and their mommies terminate the pregnacy. so many doctors deem them "incompatable with life". but baby faith's mommy says on her blog that faith, "is totally conscious and is as responsive as any "normal" baby. She is very sensitive to touch (especially when it's cold!) and can definitely hear. She smiles, cooes, cries, and is a feisty little girl ;) She knows what she likes and dislikes and she'll let you know it --she has her own little personality that we just can't get enough of. We have been shocked by her development... from day 1 she was smiling and saying baby words ("boo" "gee" "happen"... too funny). She could lift her own head from birth and when she sat up on her own at 5 days old, needless to say, we were quite amazed". i'm sorry, but does this baby seem "incompatable with life" to you? yes, she only lived 93 days...but she LIVED 93 days. she breathed on her own. she had a feeding tube, but only because of a facial deformaty that prevented her from being able to suck on a bottle long enough to eat enough.
myah, baby faith's mom, kept a blog of everything faith did in her 93 days of life. pictures, videos. i highly encourage you to watch them. and next time you think a baby is "incompatable with life"....think about baby faith hope.

#15 Dancing to Music in the Car
I like dancing to music in the car. Even if it is my dorky dancing and dorky music. Unlike Desmond, I really dont care how dorky I look. :)
If I had to make a playlist right now of my favorite songs, it would probably include the following (in no particular order)
If I had to make a playlist right now of my favorite songs, it would probably include the following (in no particular order)
- The Climb- Miley Cyrus (Yes, I'm a Hannah Montana fan. I thought the movie was amazing. And this song...is like my favorite part. And my favorite song. And...I like to sing it really loud in the car...)
- As Long As You Love Me-Backstreet Boys (Call me cheesy...but I would love it if this song was sung to me. Actually, sing any Backstreet or *NSYNC and you would have me. I would say yes and we could live happily ever after...)
- Can I Have This Dance?- High School Musical (Okay...here's the details. It has to be raining. And you have to be ballroom dancing on the roof of the school. That "just so happens" to have a really pretty garden. Got the picture? Mkay. Now listen to the song.)
- Marvelous Light- Charlie Hall (Fast version, not that slow one. My favorite part? The part where you lift your hands and spin around. I feel like a ballerina...even if I am a clumsy one!)
- Picture to Burn-Taylor Swift (This is a newfound love for an old song. Molly, the three year old I babysit, knows every word to this song and will sing it really loud. And its hilarious. So, I like it)
- MMMBop- Hanson (Guilty. I like how it seems like everyone knows the words to this song and even if they dont they can catch on pretty quick. And singing it loudly in a car is a major plus. Even if they lyrics dont make any sense to me at all. I mean...In an mmm bop they're not there.Until you lose your hair. But you don't care....Seriously guys? Why do I like this song???)
- See You Again- Miley Cyrus (This was my ringtone for the longest time and I loved it. And then, I get a new phone and they dont sell it anymore!!)
- Courage Is...- The Strange Familiar (One of my favorite songs from Secret Life, which btw I cannot wait to start the new season. Even if I have to watch it online the day after since the boys can't see it and Ivy won't be there to make fun of it with me. It's okay...I'll survive. Anywho. I like this song.)
There you go. My 8 favorite-ish songs as of this moment. :)

#14 Blogs. :)
I think it's time for a list of my favorite blogs out there and why they are my favs... ready?
4. http://audreycaroline.blogspot.com/ : I found this blog through the Footprints ministry and it was actually the first blog I ever was really addicted to. And through her I found MckMama and the rest. Angie (whose husband is in the band Selah) went through the loss of a child, and then went to India (a year later). And she has blogged about her experiences and how she has seen God at work in it all. Which I find absolutely amazing. :) This is a pretty easy blog to get addicted to...so watch out! :)
3. http://www.mycharmingkids.com/ : Okay, so this mom rocks (but not as much as mine!!). MckMama and her MSC (many small, adorably cute, children) have plenty of adventures of their own. Her youngest, Stellan, was featured on the blog earlier and she used the blog during that time to give updates with him, but the blog has been around since her first (Big Mac) was little. Raising 4 children under the age of 4 (no twins) is an adventure, and her blog has provided me with hours of procrastination. Not sure of that's good or bad. And she has cute kids. That have cute names. Like Small Fry. And wear cute clothes (sidenote: http://www.babylegs.com/ has the CUTEST legging things ever made. seriously.yes i checked it out. no, they don't make big people sizes.) Yes, I am in love with this blog. :)
2. http://www.mattlogelin.com/ : This guy is pretty amazing if you ask me. He is single daddying a beautiful little girl after her mommy passed away 27 hours after her birth. His story is inspirational, but also funny. He also has a twitter account that he posts pictures from throughout their day. And he uses the site to raise awareness and funds for other widows and widowers raising children. You can see a button at the bottom of my sidebar for the Liz Logelin Foundation, and you should check them out! :)
1. http://wetumpkanews.blogspot.com/ :so, i don't know how many of you guys have ever seen the Unofficial Official All Things Wetumpka blog, but if you haven't, you should. I laugh harder at this blog than anything else. The things that get brought up are why I love living in a small town. I mean, who else would write about the bickering at a city council meeting? Or mini-reunions in WalMart? It may not always be the most PC...but that's the way I like it! :)
There you have it. My 4 favorite blogs at the moment. School's out for the boys, so it looks like my mommy/daughter time is done for a while. Which, by the way...my mom (http://everydayadam.blogspot.com/) just got a new layout. I did the header, which I think looks amazing! And of course, I love her blog too...so you should also check it out!! :)I'm working on getting my room reorganized and getting unpacked from college now that I am moving back home for awhile. I mean, I have to unpack my suitcases sometime, right? I'm starting to run out of clothes!

#12 My Mom
So, I have the coolest mom ever.
She's amazing.
And I love her.
And she really shouldn't be number 12 on my list, she's #1 in my mind.

#11 Painting
So, I am probably not the best artist out there, but I have a new found love for painting pretty canvases. I mentioned them in the last blog post, but I forgot to include pictures.
What I like about these is that you dont have to be able to draw. Finding cool bible verses and inspiring song lyrics and quotes is actually quite easy! I found that www.wallwords.com had some great ideas. What's even better is that they make wall hangings for a dreadfully dull dorm room. They also make great presents. :)
I'm finally done with finals and am getting ready for mom to get here so that we can head home! It has been a great year in Auburn, but I have to admit I am really glad to be heading home. When fall begins, I'll be at a new school, with new people, and a new major. Its a little more than a little scary, but I know I can do it and it will all work out for good. I have some plans for this summer (beach trip), but I also think I'm going to rearrange my room! Since I will be living there and all. I will def post pictures when I decide and you might even see some new paintings! :)

not me monday.
Welcome to Not Me! Monday! This blog carnival was created by MckMama. You can head over to her blog to read what she and everyone else have not been doing this week.
I did not throw random objects into a big black garbage back the day before the parentals were coming to move me out because I was too lazy to climb up and get my big suitcase. No, not me.
I did not jump on a big tubberware box to cram more things into it and therefore make it too heavy to carry. No, not me.
I did not forget to feed my beloved fish, Gus-gus before heading to bed last night and therefore making him very hungry the next morning. No, not me.
For lunch on Saturday, I did not just consume a chocolate chip cookie because I didn't feel like anything else. And it did not take me until Monday at 2:40pm to figure said fact out. No, not me.
I did not send my white slip home with my parentals when I was going to wear a white skirt the next day to church. And I did not wear the skirt to church without a slip. No, not me.
I did not paint pretty pictures on canvases this weekend instead of studying for finals that began on Monday. No, not me.
I did not go get cupcakes for breakfast at a downtown bakery this morning instead of studying for my final and eating a nutritious meal. No, not me.
I did not contemplate doing this "Not Me Monday" blog post instead of studying for my history final. The one final I hadn't studied for at all. The one that was an hour away. No, not me.

#10 Vlogging
I have a new found love. Vlogging- that's video blogging for you non-tech-savvy people out there. This is my first vlog...ever. But probably not my last.
It tells you all the things you ever wanted to know about me, and probably alot more. Plus a synopsis of my day. And a tour of the dorm room. And a conversation with a VERY special guest named Gus-gus. This is def. not something you will want to miss!! :)
(Did I talk you into watching it yet? Come on, you know you want to!!)
