Yes, I did contemplate not going to class this morning because of the rain.
No, I did not follow through with aformentioned thought.
Yes, I have homework I should be doing instead of blogging.
No, I do not plan on doing it until the night before it is due.
Yes, I know that that is a bad idea.
No, I do not care.
Yes, I should also be reading Captivating before Dgroups tonight.
No, I have ten billion other things I should be doing that are more important (homework, report, group projects).
Yes, I know I have a meeting with an advisor from AUM to help me decide what to do with my life after this semester.
No, I have no clue what to do.
Yes, I will stop this rediculous blog and start on my to-do list.

easter weekend.
Today was Easter Sunday. I was home for the holiday, and had a wonderful time this weekend spending time with family and friends. I went home Thursday, and was able to spend Friday, Saturday, and Sunday with them. Desi had baseball games on Thursday and Saturday and he did a great job. I am SO proud of my little buddy. :) He never ceases to amaze me with his natural talent.
Today, we spent Easter at church, then went to the nursing home, and then to the Brown's house for Easter lunch and egg hunt. fun fun. Daddy wasnt here, he left on Thursday night to go to Texas for my cousin's wedding. I miss him. :(
And now, off to work on school work before tommorrow and hopefully call it an early night. I'm not feeling amazing and really hope that I'm not getting sick!!

happy day.
Oh happy day, happy day
You washed my sin away.
Oh happy day, happy day
I'll never be the same.
Oh no,
Forever i am changed.
-Tim Hughes "Happy Day"
So, honestly, I contemplated waiting until tommorrow to write this post.
Since tommorrow is Easter and all.
But, then I realized...why wait?
Why wait to celebrate?
Yes, tommorrow is the day we traditionally celebrate Easter, but why wait? Why "mourn" this loss? Jesus died a LONG time ago. And yes, I think it is good to reflect on all he did (the whole dying on a cross thing), but I think sometimes we forget that every day is a happy day. A day that reminds us we will never be the same because Jesus came. Jesus has already risen. He is not here on the earth currently. At this moment, he is not temporarily residing in a tomb, waiting for God to say, "Okay Jesus. Its Easter morning #2008 (or whatev). Come on out. You can come hang with me until Christmas. Then you have to go become a baby and lie in a manger. And then you can hang with me until Palm Sunday. And then, sorry buddy, you have to do this all over again." No, Jesus died 2000 years ago for you and for me. At THAT moment, he took upon all the sins the Christians had committed and would ever committ. He was crucified. Buried. And then rose on the third day. All of this happened ONE TIME. Not continuously.
For some reason, this has always been a hard concept for me. I was confused for awhile about all of it. I mean, I knew that it literally didnt happen each year (imagine the headlines!!), but I always saw it in a figuative sense. kind of. its complicated. so yeah. basically what i'm trying to say is this: everyday is a happy day because jesus died. not just the day of easter. remember that.
and thats all for now. going nighty night.
You washed my sin away.

lead me to cross.
Savior I come, quiet my soul
Remember Redemption's hill, where Your blood was spilled
For my ransom
Everything I once held dear, I count it all as lost
Lead me to the cross
Where Your love poured out
Bring me to my knees
Lord I lay me down
Rid me of myself, I belong to You
Lead me, lead me to the cross.
You were as I, tempted and trialed.
The word became flesh,Bore my sin and death
Now you're risen.
To your heart
To your heart
Lead me to your heart
Lead me to your heart.
--Hillsong United "Lead me to the Cross"
This Holy Week, I urge you to make this song your anthem. Get on your knees and beg God to lead you to the cross. I believe he has so much to show us if we will humble ourselves before him and listen. Let him take all of you and mold it into what he wants you to be.
Let him lead you to the cross.

he's waiting.
"In times of emptiness, an open heart notices. What are you feeling? Like a lonely girl missing her daddy? Like a teenage young woman feeling completely invisible, unseen? Often God allows these feelings to surface to help us go back to times when we have felt like this before. Notice also what you want to do-how you handle your heart. Are you shutting down in anger? Turning to food? To others?
What is crucial is that this time, we handle our hearts differently. We ask God to come for us, and we keep our hearts open to his coming. We choose not to shut down. We let the tears come. We allow the ache to swell into a longing prayer for our God. And he comes, dear hearts. He does come. The times of intimacy-the flowing waters of love- those times then bring healing to places in our hearts that still need his touch."
-Staci Eldredge "Captivating"
How do you deal?
How do you handle these feelings?
Are you asking God to come and move in you?
He will.
He stands at the the door, and calls upon you and knocks. As a good gentleman, he waits until you come answer the door and invite him in. He invites you to tell him your troubles, your burdens and promises rest. He will provide.
As soon as you answer.
He's waiting.

oh wow.
so, i'm really glad that last week is over. i had this monsterous paper due on friday and am so thrilled to have that over with.
i'm also thankful that i have some amazing friends to have fun with.
friends that you get up at 5 am for just to realize the ceremony you were going to was already over. friends that say "let's just to to hardee's". friends to go shopping with, who laugh at you when your purchase at kroger is "powdered sugar, lucky charms, and diet coke" (i kid you not!). friends to watch movies with (twilight and horton hears a who), friends to build bonfires with. friends to laugh at when you get lost. friends to joke around with. friends to go to church with. friends to not do homework with. friends to run in the rain with. friends you will remember forever, who have left an impact on your life that you will never forget even after you leave (hey-you need bridesmaides!).
so, i've pretty much made up my mind. dependent on getting accepted to aum (which will most likely occur), i'm transferring. bye bye auburn. i'm really feeling that even though i will miss the people i have grown to love this year, god wants something for me that i can't get here. i will so def. come visit (and see some football), but i'm really feeling god telling me that i need to be a teacher. i dont regret coming to auburn at all, and i dont think it was a mistake. i would not be the person i am today without everything i have learned this year. i have made some amazing friends, grown closer to God than i imagined possible, and gained a sense of independence. i dont regret it one bit. i do feel, however, remaining here would be a mistake. so, its time to pack up the bags and move on. god has something so much bigger in store, i cant wait to find out what it is.

the stand.
What could I say?
What could I do?
But to offer this heart, oh God
Completely to you.
So, I'll stand,
With arms high and heart abandoned.
In awe,
of the one who gave it all.
I'll stand,
My soul,
Lord to you surrendered.
All I am is yours.
